Community Events:

EXPAND OUR INFLUENCE:

COMMUNITY

Community Impact is an opportunity for our congregation to take an active role in helping to restore People, Communities and Creation. By becoming active participants in our community, we are learning about modeling the work of Christ in an authentic way.

Over the next THREE YEARS here is what we are looking to do through Community:

Friends Christian High School: Friends Church began in 1975 and currently has two campuses (Lakeview and Rose Drive campuses) Preschool thru 8th grade with around 1,200 students. It has been a dream that one day we would continue our education program through the 12th grade. We are looking to open Friends Christian High School in 2011 with both freshman and sophomore classes. The new High School will be housed at a 32-acre campus on Bastanchury Road in Yorba Linda.

Partner with Local Community Organizations: It is our objective as Friends church to partner with various local organizations and help them to reach their own goals. Some of our current ministry opportunities include: Solidarity, Birth Choice Health Clinic, Calicinto Ranch, Habitat for Humanity, Mary's Kitchen, and Extension Ministries.

Global Events:

ENLARGE OUR IMPACT:

GLOBAL

We believe that over the next few years we are going to be a catalyst church in helping to eradicate the caste system in India and bring freedom to the Dalit people! This freedom will happen as we begin to educate the next generation and allow them the opportunity to have a future that is bright and prosperous. From education to health care, to social justice, to poverty, as well as sharing the gospel of Jesus with these people, it can easily be seen as one of the greatest mission opportunities that has ever been placed before our church.

Over the next THREE YEARS here is what we are looking to do Globally:

Continue our Current Partnerships in India: We are currently working with two organizations: Operation Mobilization India (www.om.org/where-we-work/india.html) and Operation Mercy Charitable Company (www.omccindia.org). Both organizations have an unwavering desire to see the caste system eradicated in India and believe that providing education is a key step in that process.

Build Schools: We hope to build 70 Dalit Education Centers as we head towards our ten-year goal of 200 Dalit Education Centers. In addition to those 70 Dalit Education Centers there will be 30 Vocational Trade Centers. These centers provide opportunities for the Dalit women to learn a specific trade and in return, take that into the work place to make a better living for their families. This goal is so bold and daring that God alone can accomplish what we envision!
