Well, I'll start by introducing myself. I was born in the Midwest and raised in Minnesota, I graduated from Mankato State University, Currently Minnesota State at Mankato. I have a high school teaching degree and taught high school for 5 years before I moved to California. I have a passion for the outdoors and began my quest for my ultimate goal, hunting a Cape Buffalo in Africa with Archery equipment.
I have been privileged to travel to Africa about 5 times in the last 5 years I have been successful hunting plains game so now I wanted the ultimate challenge hunting a dangerous Cape Buffalo with a bow.
I knew that it could be dangerous so I practiced daily for over two years so when the time came I would be ready. When the day came my wife and daughter were able to accompany me on my trip. This would be exciting to know that people that understand my passion would be there with me. I was just hoping they wouldn't be accompanying me on my death wish hunt.  I was confident in my ability. I was ready! That first morning as we left camp my Professional Hunter asked if I was ready. "Yes" I answered but now I had a deep pit in my stomach. I was ready as I could be for something I had never faced before. Then we saw them from the truck, buffalo, wow there are bigger then I thought. I had to ask myself again, Are you ready! Why does everyone keep asking me that. I'm READY! So here we go. We started our tracking process. We had the head tracker the Professional Hunter a back up Professional myself my wife and my daughter. We had a mob! The only problem was that I was the only one who was shooting, so no help there. Well as time went on the buffalo kept getting our scent because the wind was wrong. This was frustrating! As I was attempting one more stalk on my knees my wife walks up to me and taps me on the shoulder! "What are we doing" she say's. Well honey I'm tracking a buffalo.  "Well why can't you find any?" came her reply. I knew right then that the hunt for the morning was over. "It's time to feed her." I said to my P.H. If you saw my wife you could understand the need to eat. She is tiny and has the metabolism of a humming bird. So I knew we would try again after lunch. To make a long story short-as the saying goes I was successful in the afternoon. Yes I was Ready.

Details later.
